Expertly handcrafted by one of our joiners here in the heart of the Devon countryside, we have our Iroko Highampton gates coming as a pair with one larger gate measuring 3/4 of the total width and then a smaller gate measuring 1/4 of the total width and acting as a side gate to your main entrances. . A simple, yet modern gate that will add an impressive and tasteful design to your driveways and front of homes. The iroko material is simply stunning with yellow and brown tones and beautiful natural grains throughout. Iroko derives from the west coast of Africa and is a super strong and hardwearing timber; the perfect species for driveway and entrance gates.

Made using mortise & tenon techniques, this gate is extremely vigorous, sturdy and able to withstand the harshest of weathers. The iroko tongue and groove cladding in which the frame houses, interlocks together and creates a seamless finish with shadow lines visible running vertical. Untreated due to the natural hardwearing properties of Iroko.

Please note: Our Iroko gates are supplied untreated due to the natural hardwearing properties of the wood. However, in order to maintain colour and prevent moisture entering the wood we advise all our gates are given a UV treatment (such as OSMO Clear Oil) once installed and on an ongoing basis as part of standard maintenance. Please see our Iroko Maintenance Blog and Terms & Conditions (Section 4) for more information.

This product is specifically manufactured upon order placement and falls under our "Made-To-Measure" product range. We encourage you to review our Terms and Conditions (Section 2) before placing an order, as they detail guidance regarding orders, returns, and cancellations for "Made-To-Measure" product range.

Wooden gates are susceptible to warping if not appropriately handled and maintained. We encourage you to read our 'Why Do Gates Warp' page and Terms and Conditions for advice on how to prevent this. We cannot be held liable for any issues with your timber, such as cracking, twisting and/or warping, if the advice provided on these pages are not followed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here’s what we get asked most often.

What are 3/4 split gates?

The 3/4 split gate consists of two leafs, where one leaf is typically wider than the other. The wider panel usually occupies 3/4 of the total width of the gate, while the narrower panel occupies 1/4. This design allows for a more versatile and practical opening mechanism, often used in residential or commercial properties for quick and easy pedestrian access.

Do your gates arrive fully assembled?

Yes! Our gates arrive fully assembled at your doorstep, so no construction is needed!

Are your 3/4 Split Iroko Highampton Mortise and Tenon T&G Entrance Gate Pair pressure-treated?

Our Iroko Highampton 3/4 Split Entrance gates are untreated due to the natural durability of Iroko Hardwood.

Are your gates in stock?

All of our gates are made-to-order, so we don't typically have them in stock—only the materials.

What is the finish on your 3/4 Split Iroko Highampton Mortise and Tenon Entrance Gates?

This gate has a smooth, planed finish.

What timber are your 3/4 Split Iroko Highampton Mortise and Tenon T&G Entrance Gates made from?

Our Iroko Highampton Gate Pair is made from African Iroko Hardwood.

What's included in delivery?

Our gates do not arrive with the hinges and posts; these will need to be purchased separately. You can find these on our website, or when adding the gate to your basket as 'Get extras for your product'.

Do you make bespoke/custom gates?

We absolutely do! Just like our fencing and pergolas, we can make completely bespoke Entrance Gates. If you'd like a quote for your measurements, please contact our Sales team on 01409 231 763 or sales@ruby-group.co.uk.

Can I paint my gates?

You can! You can only use water-based paint on our gates; however, you will need to ensure the gate is as dry as possible before painting. We do recommend applying UV protection to the gate prior to painting also.

What maintenance is required?

We highly recommend treating your gate at least every 6 months with Osmo Oil, to protect your gates against the elements and against decay, as well as discoloration. We also recommend checking your gates every so often and removing any built-up dirt and grime.

How do I prevent warping/bowing?

We have made a dedicated page with tips and tricks on how to prevent warping and bowing. Please see here: https://www.ruby-group.co.uk/pages/why-do-gates-warp

How long do your 3/4 Split Iroko Highampton Mortise and Tenon T&G Entrance Gate Pair last?

If properly maintained, our Iroko 3/4 Split Highampton Entrance Gates can last between 15-30 years.
