Our Diamond brace gate is a traditional 5 bar gate, can be used as a field gate to contain livestock. Also, can be used as a driveway entrance, giving an aesthetically pleasing look as you enter your drive.This is one of our top selling, popular products we sell. This gate extremely popular with the Farming community due to its 4 x 3inch (100mm x 75mm) top rail which gives it great strength. Our 3,4, and 5-foot gates have a diagonal cross brace whereas all other sizes have a diamond brace, doing it this way provides great strength to all sizes of our gates. As standard, they come as 4ft high and lengths covering all sizes from 3ft to 12ft. Of course, we do also offer a bespoke size gate.

To make your gate we use pressure treated larch wood. This gives the gate a long lasting, strong and weatherproof finish. For the bolts, nuts, and washer we use a steel metal; stopping them from rusting in the rain and also helping it last longer. With all this combined we have created the perfect, long-lasting and attractive field or entrance gate for you.

    Can I use a field gate on a sloped surface?

    Yes, field gates can be installed on sloped ground, but you may need to adjust the gate height or use custom hinges to ensure smooth operation and clearance over uneven terrain.

    Do you farm gates arrive with fixings and posts?

    No, these will need to be purchased with your field gate.

    Usage
    Can I paint my gate?

    You can! You can only use water-based paint on our gates, however, and you will need to ensure the gate is as dry as possible before painting. We do recommend applying UV protection to the gate prior to painting also.

    How often do I need to treat my gate?

    We strongly recommend treating your garden gate with UV protection at least every 12 months, when the gate is dry. This is to protect your gate against weather related issues such as warping, twists etc. If you are signed up to our email marketing, you will receive a yearly reminder of this!

    What is the lifespan of a timber field gate?

    With proper maintenance, timber field gates can last 15 to 30+ years or more, depending on the material (softwood or hardwood) and the level of exposure to the elements.

    Installation
    Do I need a throwover loop for double gates?

    Yes, throwover loops are recommended for double field gates. They secure both sides of the gate, preventing them from swinging open and ensuring proper alignment when closed.
