Pressure-Treated Timber
Pressure-Treated Timber

Unlike many sheds that use dip-treated timber, every component of ours is fully pressure treated. This deeper, longer-lasting treatment protects against rot and decay from the inside out. It means stronger, more durable sheds with no need for immediate retreatment—offering real peace of mind and year-round protection.

Key Facts:

  • Heavy Duty
  • Pressure Treated Wood
  • Ruby In-House Manufacturing
  • Joinery Grade Treated Shiplap T&G
  • Kit Form (Easy Install)
  • Osmo UV Protection Available

Skilfully handcrafted by our experienced joiners, parts are crafted from treated wood to withstand the elements. Thoroughly thought-out in both form and components, the shed has been designed to accommodate personal needs. Door and window placements can be adjusted for convenience.

Our sheds are of a single skin construction using 14.5mm Tongue & Groove Shiplap cladding. This interlocking cladding helps reduce the risk of water ingress, however due to the natural expansion and shrinkage of timber dependant on moisture content slight dampness is a possibility. To help prevent the risk of this we would recommend applying OSMO Clear Oil.

FAQs
FAQs
Product
What is a Pent Shed?

A pent shed is a type of garden shed characterised by its single-sloped roof. This design allows rainwater to easily drain off the roof and is often chosen for its modern appearance and the ability to place the shed against a wall or fence.

What is the difference between an Apex and Pent Shed?

An apex shed and a pent shed differ mainly in their roof designs, affecting both appearance and functionality. An apex shed has a peaked roof with two sloping sides meeting in the middle, creating a triangular shape. This design provides more headroom in the center, making it suitable for storing taller items and offering a traditional, classic look often seen in rustic gardens. Apex sheds are typically freestanding and can be placed anywhere in the garden. In contrast, a pent shed features a single-sloping roof that angles in one direction. The highest point is along one side, offering easier access and a modern, streamlined appearance. Pent sheds are ideal for placement against a wall or fence, maximizing space in smaller gardens while efficiently directing rainwater away. The choice between the two often comes down to aesthetic preference, available space, and specific storage needs, with apex sheds offering more traditional appeal and pent sheds providing modern, space-saving solutions.

What cladding is used for your Pent Shed?

We use Heavy Duty Joinery Grade 121mm x 14.5mm Treated Shiplap T&G.

How long do timber Sheds last?

If maintained properly, our Sheds can last from up to 25 years!

Do you offer custom Sheds?

Yes! We can create a completely bespoke Shed that's customised to your needs - whether that's the layout inside, the materials used, or the size.

Installation
Does Ruby offer installation?

We do! Please contact our friendly Sales team for a quote on 01409 231 763 or sales@ruby-group.co.uk for a quote on installation.

Can I construct a Shed myself?

If you're looking to construct the Shed yourself or with your own fitters, we provide detailed instructions for the assembly of the stables.

Maintenance and Aftercare
Do I need to treat my Shed?

We highly recommend treating your Shed at least every 6 months with Osmo Oil, to protect your Shed against the elements and against decay, as well as discolouration. We also recommend checking your Shed every so often and removing any built-up dirt and grime.

Can I paint my Shed?

You can! You can only use water-based paint on our Shed, however, and you will need to ensure the Shed is as dry as possible before painting. We do recommend applying UV protection to the Shed prior to painting also.

We encourage you to review our Terms and Conditions (Section 2) before placing an order, as they detail guidance regarding orders, returns, and cancellations for "Made-To-Measure" product range.

Please note: Our sheds are designed to be weather-resistant rather than fully waterproof due to their kit form assembly. This is standard for all kit form sheds on the market. However, by carefully following our maintenance and installation guides, you can significantly reduce the chances of water entering and keep your shed in optimal condition.
