Treatment Untreated, Oak is naturally durable and resistant to rot, making it an excellent choice for outdoor use. However, to protect its natural beauty and enhance its longevity, we highly recommend applying a suitable stain or oil, such as OSMO. This will help preserve its rich colour and provide additional protection against weathering, cracking, and movement. Staining not only enhances the oak's durability but also ensures it maintains its appearance and structural integrity over time.

European Oak Shadow Gap Cladding

European Oak Shadow Gap cladding offers a perfect combination of natural durability and modern elegance, making it an excellent choice for both exterior and interior applications. Renowned for its resistance to rot, decay, and weathering, European Oak ensures long-lasting performance with minimal maintenance, even in harsh environments.

The Shadow Gap profile adds a sophisticated depth and sleek, linear detail, making it ideal for contemporary designs with an architectural edge. European Oak’s exceptional stability reduces warping, swelling, and shrinking, ensuring a consistent and flawless finish over time. Its warm, natural tones can be left untreated to develop a weathered patina or enhanced with stains and oils to match any design vision.

Sustainably sourced and environmentally responsible, European Oak Shadow Gap cladding is the perfect choice for architects and builders looking for a reliable, eco-conscious material that blends timeless beauty with modern functionality.

Board Run

It's important to tell us which way your cladding will be running as depending on the desired orientation of your cladding, the timber needs to be cut differently.

Vertical run cladding naturally channels water downwards, however if cut incorrectly horizontal profile boards may trap water inside the shadow gaps, making it more susceptible to weather-related issues like rot. To combat this, horizontal boards are cut with a slight angle in the gaps to help the water run off, while vertical boards retain a nice crisp edge.
