
To stay within permitted development, your garage must be positioned behind the main front wall of the house, must not cover more than 50% of the land around the property, and should be used for incidental purposes such as storage or parking rather than living space.
General Criteria

In terms of height, it must not exceed 2.5m if within 2 metres of a boundary, or 3m for a flat roof and 4m for a pitched roof if positioned further away
