High-quality untreated home grown cedar featheredge commonly used for the perfect fencing cladding. Mainly used for exterior work and has been pressure treated to ensure long life and resistance to rot. Individual boards are 150mm wide and are cut on a taper from 22mm thick planks; thus the tapered cross-section of each board varies from about 15mm down to 7mm. Basically meaning the thick side of the panel will be about 15mm, and the thin edge will be about 7mm.
Easy to erect & maintain, it is also well able to cope with site conditions requiring a fence of variable height or line.
Aligned vertically onto horizontal rails, the feather edge boards are nailed such that adjacent boards overlap, forming an extremely strong and wind-proof fence with maximum privacy. Gravel boards are often built into feather-edge fencing to provide a degree of protection against damage from strimmers, lawn-mowers etc, (we can supply these, phone us to discuss your needs if you like).
Cedar is one of the most popular woods at the minute. Due to it's modern and contemporary style it makes the perfect cladding for all outdoor buildings! Many of our customers have used this for sheds and offices. A timber that will make an impact and stand out. Home-grown cedar is much faster grown and has regular beautiful small & large knots sometimes up to 50mm and when machined can sometimes be slightly fluffy especially around knots.
Please note: This is homegrown and not graded, please allow for 20% of wastage. It is common to see naturally occurring defects like knots, both live and dead, sap pockets and surface shakes, these cannot be graded out and as a result, you will see a percentage of this.
