The shadow gap profile forms a recessed line between adjoining boards, adding depth and definition to the finished surface. Choose concealed fixings for a clean, uninterrupted finish, or face-fix through the boards where preferred, using suitable stainless steel fixings.

Machined from Dried Timber

Our cladding is machined from dried timber, allowing much of the initial shrinkage to occur before the boards are shaped to their finished profile. This helps reduce subsequent shrinkage and supports more consistent dimensions and a neater fit compared with machining freshly sawn timber.

Drying before machining also helps achieve a cleaner, smoother surface and accurately formed profiles, supporting consistent joints and well-defined shadow lines.

British Grown, Devon Machined

Our Cedar is grown in Britain and machined at our Devon workshop, supporting domestic forestry and British manufacturing.

Sourcing closer to home helps limit transport distances and associated transport emissions compared with timber shipped over long distances. In-house machining gives us control over the finished profile and the flexibility to accommodate bespoke project requirements.

Your Choice of Finish

British Cedar can be left untreated to gradually develop a silver-grey patina, creating a softly weathered appearance. Weathering will vary with exposure, shelter and orientation.

To help retain its original colour, choose a suitable Osmo exterior UV protection oil recommended for Cedar. Follow the manufacturer’s preparation, application and maintenance instructions to achieve the best results.
